Project Lead The Way
Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is the only pre-engineering/engineering technology program of its kind in the nation. Founded in 1997 to address the shortfall in students’ science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills, PLTW has built a project-based learning program on a foundation of Autodesk® 3d software.
It is presently offered in over 3,000 schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia and is affiliated with such groups as NASA, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, American Society of Electrical Engineers, American Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and others. PLTW is endorsed as a STEM program by the AIA and NDIA, among others.
PLTW Partnership for STEM-based Solutions
As a comprehensive pre-engineering, pre-architecture, and inter-disciplinary program for high school students, Autodesk® Design Academy provides software and innovative modular curriculum that includes the introduction to engineering foundation course from Project Lead the Way.

ARRA Race to the Top - Funding and more
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)—signed into law in 2009—will provide states with more than $58 billion in education funding before Spring 2010.
PLTW meets many of the necessary requirements for Race to the Top and the What Works Innovation Fund and may assist your state, district or school in preparing an application for ARRA funds. These funds may be employed to expand an existing PLTW program or to implement a new program.
